April 28th – May 1st, 2014, KGAD , Gadsden, Alabama

Some of us will be gathering in Gadsden to provide service to the airplanes stranded by Bob Steward’s sudden passing. In the same manner that he so often demonstrated, we are gathering there to support the Grumman Community.

If you have the time and the spirit to contribute, we will see you there.

For details and info, email Roscoe

Friday, May 2 – Final Day, two of the three planes have had their annuals and the associated work completed, one waiting for two cylinders on the discrepancy list. Still fighting the mag problem on the last. Who would have thought that 2 mags can fail at the same time? Hangar will be cleared out in the am and many will depart for home. It has been an honor to serve with this fine crew for so good a cause.

Best Western Plus near the airport it is available at a slightly discounted $75 per night (before tax with real breakfast, eggs / biscuit / gravy etc.) to anyone who asks for the Grumman Airplane Mechanics Rate.
There are four other nearly new very nice motels near the Best Western Plus, across from the Walmart and behind the Cracker barrel. These would be suite / business traveler style, and they too have special rates for anyone who asks for their airport rate.

There is a decent looking Motel 6 on Rainbow Drive that is $41.81 including tax.

Good restaurants nearby.
