This event is to train pilots in the most elementary formation techniques necessary to fly together to Oshkosh in July 2016 as well as introducing pilots to the delight of formation flying. The primary day of training is Saturday/20 Feb with Sunday as a weather backup or advanced training if there is any interest. I and at least one other experienced (and formally carded) pilot will be providing the training. Priority will be given to pilots joining us for the KOSH arrival, but training will be extended to any pilot interested in joining us. The briefing is scheduled for 9 AM Saturday at KAEX and will last about 1.5 hours followed by multiple sorties. Ideally, pilots new to formation will ride an observation ride and then fly with a qualified Safety Pilot. Anyone interested in joining us can contact me at DFerg1018@gmail.com or call/text 615-925-9220.
I am planning to fly into KAEX Friday/19 Feb and remaining until Sunday. We have found that the post-flight debrief at a mutual location is extremely beneficial to the learning curve. I will provide information on lodging that we intend to use so hopefully you can join us, but you can also fly in/out the same day. Even if you can’t join us for the full event, come on down and see what fun this can be when briefed and safely planned!
Cheers! Ferg (Dwane Ferguson)
