The first ‘National Gathering’ of the Grumman Pilots Association (GPA) will be held:

June 13-15, 2014, Falls of Rough State Park (Rough River ), KY 2I3

Notes June 11:

  • We bought a variety of wines, beer, bring some of your own to share if desired.
  • Look for message board in Airport Building. Also find and fill out the sign-in and contact info sheet. So far we have 35-40 RSVPs for the various days. WX looks great! Cabin Assignment is at 3pm, which we will use as a ‘FBO’ (Food, Bathroom, Other). Ken and Roscoe plan to be there is late morning, Central Time, about 10 am. Ramp holds 7 planes, plan to tie down, that means:
  • ‘Bring tie-downs and ropes.’ We’ve had 86 Grummans at RR before so there is lots of room. See ya’ll tomorrow Friday. Contact Phone: 513-519-7008, Alternate: 123.45 on ground. Campers (5 of you so far), Showers in Airport Building (OUT of ORDER).
  • Bring Chairs, we’ll have a few extras, but pamper your butt.
  • We’re bringing lots of food, 40 whole ears of corn for Friday and Saturday night each.
  • Saturday Night BBQ by Donations.
  • GPA and Founders Patches will be available as well as generation 2 of the Shop Monkey Shirts.
  • Direct Commercialism : Did we mentions lots of ‘Door Prizes’?
  • Kentucky State Parks Do Not Allow Open Alcohol containers. You can drink in your room or at the cabins, but no walking and drinking. After all, never been a problem with Pilots and Booze?

Schedule:

  • Friday June 13 – Arrival and group ‘Pot Luck’ Dinner at the cabins (Bring a dish!) Introductions, campfire stories, hangar flying, etc.
  • Saturday June 14 – Fun activities, organizational meetings, BBQ at the cabins more stories, daily coverage notes, introduction stories.
  • Sunday June 15 – Breakfast in the Lodge and flyout
