Spruce Creek, FL (7FL6)
Finished our formation clinic today! Trained six pilots and introduced another pilot by having him fly along and observe the F.A.S.T. (Formation and Safety Team) training methods. He plans to attend another clinic and bring his own aircraft to fly in formation with a Safety Pilot in the right seat. I’ve attached a photo of my Tiger leading a four-ship formation. As you can imagine, I was rather busy, so a passenger in #4 took this pic of N28499 leading a variety of RVs. (Pilots taking pics while flying is verboten!) We had several Grumman aircraft based at the “Creek” (7FL6) fly in other formations as well. Some pilots could not arrive on the first day, but arrived later to join the fun. Overall a great clinic that started out with rough weather on the weekend, but improving weather in the days following resulted in four new qualified pilots and three who have made much progress. Don’t miss the next event!
I will be flying my Tiger into 7FL6 on Friday/8 Jan 2016 along with a number of other pilots. The formation briefing will be held Saturday morning and open to anyone interested in joining us. We already have nine attendees signed up.To register go to: http://flyredstar.org/index.php.
